Urban Design and Field Sketching

Beyond urban sketching, I will be presenting concepts of perspective drawing concepts, sequence viewing, urban design, and expressive notions and the discovery of this great city, Seattle.

Each class will be in different locations within the city, meeting at sites, working in ‘plein air’  and creating beautiful, urban landscapes.

Queen Anne Studio and Seattle sites, all around the town.

Limit 8

Begins 2nd week in June,  evening and afternoon sessions available.

8 week class: 2 hours each session  $400

Expressive Drawing/Design in Landscape: beginning and intermediate

Whether you want to learn how to draw, rekindle your creative imagination, or broaden your drawing skills, this class will free your ‘inner artist’.

Expressive Drawing/Design in Landscape will guide you through stimulating exercises, focusing on expressive drawing, a free form, abstract approach that any eager artist can master.Concepts covered:

Line, mark, shape, texture and tone.Once we initially investigate these dynamic drawing concepts, we will apply these to landscape painting and drawing processes.

You will never look at a landscape and drawing the same again; be ready to be painting outside too.

Beginning Watercolor: Painting with Intention

Develop an understanding of transparent watercolor, discovering it’s 4  variables and beauty of the paint.
